Neil Kopp (Producer)

Kelly Reichardt’s film Old Joy was Portland-based film producer Neil Kopp’s feature film debut, and in 2006 he co-produced Gus Van Sant’s Paranoid Park. In 2007, Kopp teamed up with director Kelly Reichardt again, producing the feature film Wendy and Lucy starring Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams. Old Joy premiered at Sundance in 2006, won the Tiger Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival, and Neil, along with his co-producers, were nominated for the Cassavettes Award at the 2007 Independent Spirit Awards. Paranoid Park premiered in competition at Cannes in 2007, and was nominated for Best Director and Best Feature at the 2008 Independent Spirit Awards. Wendy and Lucy premiered in Cannes in 2008, and is nominated for Best Feature and Best Actress at the 2009 Independent Spirit Awards. The film is currently in theatres. Neil was also awarded the Piaget Producers Award at the 2008 Independent Spirit Awards. Neil is currently in post-production on Matt McCormick’s feature film, Some Days Are Better Than Others.
